Architect's Breath
Swiss architect Peter Zumthor is one of the cultural opponents who showed the sharpest resistance to the information and communication-oriented second postmodern wave that came with the 1990s. This is not a written or verbal political opposition; With his work, he once again proves that he does not care about this world, which is based on the circulation of words and images. Moreover, each time in a different way: At one time, by emulating the technique of making primitive clay pots, at another time, by taking inspiration from the tectonic arrangement of rocks, at another time, by taking shelter in timber warehouses or being inspired by the fish's back. The only common point of his works, which each time establish a completely unique relationship with the material and situation, is that they are designed to directly touch and stimulate the senses. In this book, Peter Zumthor's world is examined by considering the works that brought him the Pritzker prize, considered the Nobel Prize in architecture, in 2008.
