Avesta Dili Grameri ve Etimolojik Sözlüğü
Although more than 100 years have passed since detailed Avesta grammars and dictionaries were published in the West and Eastern countries such as Iran and India, it can easily be said that studies in this field in Turkey are still in their early stages. However, it is obvious that ancient Aryan languages and culture had a serious impact on the Anatolian-Mesopotamian geography and its surroundings. On the other hand, it cannot be said that the history of Aryan languages, which goes back to the Mitanni and left deep-rooted traces in the history of the geography we live in, has not been sufficiently studied and reached the place it deserves. The present study aims to fill the gap in this field to some extent and introduce the basic grammatical features and major vocabulary of the Avestan language, which represents one of the richest examples among the Ancient Aryan languages. This study also has the aim of increasing the interest in the history and literature of ancient Aryan languages, which have been neglected for many years.
We hope that such initial steps taken will lead future generations to produce much more comprehensive products.
