Ivan Sergeyevich Turgenyev (1818-1883): He is one of the 19th century Russian writers whose works were first translated in Europe and in our country. He is remembered as the only Russian writer of his time with a European perspective. This book includes the plays called The President's Banquet (1849), Moneylessness (1845) and The Bachelor (1849), which are among the first comedy examples of Turgenev's stage works. In The President's Banquet, Turgenev tells the story of a property division among noblemen in the countryside, in Moneylessness, about a nobleman who insists on living in the big city despite his financial problems, and in The Bachelor, about what happens during preparations for a marriage.
