Hasan Cemal did not forget that scream and went after the owner of the voice. He could not find the young woman who had already breathed her last breath into those mountains, but he found her family, friends, comrades and words. That young woman's name is Delila; In her own words, "a singing guerrilla." Today, they describe Delila as "the Sezen Aksu of the Kurds." They still listen to and sing the songs he recorded in the mountains and in cities. Very few people know the story of that voice.
