Felsefenin Arzusu: Politika
"Just as religion incorporated the 'Trojan horse' that would destroy itself from within the moment it addressed philosophy, even if it was for the purpose of exclusion, now, once philosophy addresses the 'mass' and daily life, it has included politics as the addressee of its own realization and therefore its own transcendence." While philosophy, which is busy conceptualizing and rationalizing the real problems of history, draws reality to its own level and becomes politicized, politics philosophizes its own object and confronts the pre-suppositions that philosophy accepts as natural givenness with its real object. "It is the thinker who provides."
Philosophy and politics; The two disciplines that are talked about the most regarding the relationship between them. The Desire of Philosophy: Politics makes a suggestion about what this relationship is by determining the "historical moments of dialectics". It both presents a history of philosophy regarding dialectics, starting from Plato and ending with Marx, and also identifies three basic forms of how politics is understood within the history of philosophy. In doing so, he once again highlights ontology as the basic discipline of philosophy. It is an ambitious initiative and has very ambitious results...
In the study, dialectics, which is seen as an epistemological and ontological movement that "organizes beings as Being", is described through three historical moments. The first of these, adhering to Hegelian terminology, is called the Abstract Determination of Dialectics and starts from Plato, is mediated by Aristotle and goes all the way to Kant. The main feature of this period is that it uses dialectics as a method of reasoning inherent in pure thought and avoids testing itself on its object. The second moment of Dialectics, called the Negative-Rational Determination, unlike the first period, makes very bold attempts to meet its object and is characterized by Fichte, Schelling and Hegel. However, although the ideal form of thought, which is very eager to find itself in its object, has given itself a much more perfect form in the experiments of this period, it cannot reach the desire for identity. When Marx, among other beings, identifies the movement and central unit of a being, the commodity, which emerges from an ordinary form of existence and gives/infects all other beings with its own form, the third moment, the Positive-"Rational" Determination of Dialectics, then begins to gain its qualities and its own concept. It starts to form. Note that the word "rational" in this last moment is in quotation marks: the movement of the commodity follows a course of development based on force rather than rationality. Being able to follow the dynamics of the global movement of capitalism that organizes the world as a world and the development of new labor control strategies and determine the agenda of the labor movement therefore requires having the working form of the dialectical movement and comprehending dialectics as a form of consciousness.
Three ways of doing politics correspond to these three moments of dialectics. The political form that opposes the Abstract Determination of Dialectics is called Ideal-Political and corresponds to the desire to organize social life through ideas, gods, organic unity or some non-justifiable ideal elements; This period, similar to the first moment of dialectics, embodies the desire for intellectual designs to manifest into reality. The Negative-Rational Determination of Dialectics corresponds to a style of doing politics called Real-Politics, and although it has the ability to search for the principle that organizes reality in its object compared to Ideal-Politics, it encounters this principle itself to the extent that Being allows it, or it imposes what it thinks as a principle on reality. Ultimately, the superiority of exchange value over use value and the movement that tries to absorb it in almost all areas cause, for the first time so far, an existent to infect other existents so intensely through a feature and to organize them in its own form. And therefore, the economic form of the world organized by the commodity, and the ontological structure of the ground that organizes the existents as Being, reveal a style of politics that we express as Onto-Politics.
Throughout the book, the story of how the relationship between Being and Knowledge, politics and philosophy is mediated by dialectics is told through a journey through the history of philosophy. The Desire of Philosophy: Politics can be read as an effort to both hold a position within philosophy and participate in the Kampfplatza; On the other hand, it functions as a history of philosophy from Plato to Marx that does not skip any internal relationships...
