Loving the World Today is a book that reflects both on Hannah Arendt's political thought and on the present of the world "together" with Hannah Arendt around concepts such as politics, freedom, identity, truth, solidarity and action.

Just like Arendt, Berktay objects to the discrediting of politics by identifying it with pure power, domination and rent sharing. He opposes this "fake politics" based on so-called truths and obligations to the search for a "real politics" whose primary aim is Freedom and which gives its due to opinions and contingency. Arendt emphasizes the importance of understanding against indoctrination, taking a stand against taking sides, friendship against brotherhood, non-exclusive solidarity against loyalty to the tribe, the freedom to move between our identities, amor mundi, which she sees as the basis of political ethics against modernity that emphasizes the self, and caring for the world. It shows why his conceptualizations are still needed by all libertarian politics, including feminism, today.
