Ethnic Origin of Sumerians
The mountainous region in the north and northeast of Sumer is the ancient Kurdish geography. Sumerians called this mountainous country Hursag. Hursag geographically corresponds to Kurdistan. The Sumerians called Hursag (Kursag) "Kur" in the early periods and the people living here were called "Kurti". Kur-Kursag-Hursag was the geography of today's Kurdistan, and Kurtis were the ancestors of today's Kurds. As can be understood from her name and the geography she comes from, Ninhursag is a Goddess of Kurdish origin and the main Goddess of the Kurdish geography in the Neolithic period. Ninhursag's other name is "Mama". In Dimili, ana means may/ma. Again, the name of the Hurrian kingdom that ruled around Maraş around 2000-1900 BC is the Mama Kingdom. Also with the name mama (connected with the Mother Goddess), there are Mamagan/Mamakan tribes in many regions of Kurdistan.
