Ethnic and Religious Minorities in the Middle East
Author: Kirsten E. Schulze, Clom Campbell, Martin Stokes
This book describes the experiences of peoples and minorities who are already stateless and completely unprotected in the Middle East, which has turned into hell, in an environment where even the States have disappeared, and traditional minorities such as Christian, Jewish, Zoroastrian, Alevi or Baha'i communities in many Middle Eastern states, as well as Maronites, It includes stateless peoples and powerless majorities, such as Kurds and Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
In the Middle East, where large and relatively homogeneous populations are divided due to new state borders and dispersed to form diasporas due to a brutal war, oppression or the demands of the international labor market, efforts to overcome these problems by creating new consensus grounds are gaining ground, but hopes are decreasing. This book aims to make a modest contribution to all these efforts.
