History Teaching 3-The Power of the West
Back Cover Article (From the Promotional Bulletin)
In his work titled "The Teaching of History - 3 / The Power of the West", the author continues his work from where he left off in The Teaching of History - 2. “The Power of the West” begins with the developments in the 14th century, when Europe, which represents the west of the known world, entered into a bright revival in art and science, which we call the “Renaissance”, in other words the “Rebirth” movement. The Renaissance in Europe and its aftermath opens the door to the "Age of Enlightenment", which transforms the constantly developing human creative power and the religion- and God-centered social structure into a reason-centered social structure. It offers a brief look at the Industrial Revolution, which fueled colonialism movements with the successive Science Renaissance, Geographical Discoveries, and, in the light of all these developments, European History caught between two great wars.
