This work, which we have brought to the reader under the name Kırklar'nın Cemi'nde; Au banquet des Quarante - Exploration au cour du, in which Professor Irène Mélikoff, whom we know well with her book "They Uyur Idik Uyarları" (Istanbul 1992, 1993, 2006), the Turkish publication of her research on "Anatolian Folk Islam", has collected her latest articles and papers on the subject. It contains the Turkish translation of the French publication Bektchisme-Alevisme (Journey towards the essence of Alevi-Bektashism in the Cemi of the Forties, Istanbul 2001)...

The author writes these last articles and speeches in French and English:

1. General topics (Hacı Bektaş between Sufism and Shamanism; Alevism as a belief on the edge of Islam, Bektashism and Alevism in Turkey),

2. Historical research (Bâcıyân-ı Rûm and Kadıncık Ana, Bektashi-Alevi historical division, Bektashism in the context of Enlightenment),

3. Literature field (Glorification of Shah Ismail in the past and today, Pir Sultan Abdal),

4. Deepening of the doctrine (Latest observations, development from Central Asia to Asia Minor, from Sky-God to Shah-ı Merdan, Deification of Ali, mountain and tree sacredness in Hacı Bektaş, universality in non-congregational formations and non-revelation.
It has been grouped under four main headings:
The author says, "Studying the field of Bektashism is not a process of belief, but a process of observation, analysis and trying to understand." With his work, he takes us on a journey towards the roots of the phenomenon.
