Zabel Yesayan, one of the most well-known writers of modern Armenian literature, tells the story of a woman stuck between her feelings for two men during the Gallipoli War. Her book Meliha Nuri Hanım is published by Aras Publishing, Mehmet It was published with the translation of Fatih Uslu.

Zabel Yesayan, who is known in Turkish for his book Among the Ruins, in which he tells his testimony about the 1909 Adana Massacre, also published by Aras, and is among the most creative and innovative writers of Armenian literature with his long stories and novels. Meliha Nuri Hanım, which she wrote in Paris in the 1920s, draws attention as the only work among her works that features Turkish characters. It is about the emotional fluctuations of Meliha Nuri Hanım, who provides voluntary health service for the hospital, between a high-level Ottoman bureaucrat and the chief physician of the hospital. Master writer Yesayan, in the person of Meliha Nuri Hanim, examines both the difficulties of being a woman in changing times and the mentality of the Turkish-Ottoman elite. It also casts the shadow of the Armenian deportations and massacres on Meliha Nuri Hanim, through an unnamed Armenian physician serving in the army. The differences in the reactions of the characters to what happened to the Armenian people play a key role in understanding their inner worlds and reveal important clues about the reflections of the Disaster on the Turkish mind.

Meliha Nuri Hanım is a mirror to a period and the people of that period.
