Austrian Alevis - The Alevi Movement in Europe and a Unique People
Whatever has been experienced but not written remains indescribable and historyless. Journalist-writer Hüseyin Şimşek's work with Yol TV started in January 2007 and continued until June 2013. This process also formed the basis for this book titled Austrian Alevis. A total of 100 episodes of programs were broadcast under the responsibility of Şimşek, who served as the general coordinator of the programs Panorama Austria, Austrian Alevileri, Tercan-Tuzlaçayı Alevileri, Yol Austria and Among the Witnesses. In addition, when AABF stepped into the virtual media field with www.aleviten.or.at in June 2008, Şimşek was the editor of this window. This work continued until April 2011.
By 2012, Şimşek had accumulated countless news, small-scale research and articles about Austrian Alevis. The most important thing was that a 10-episode documentary was made about the Alevis in this country. For the documentary "Austrian Alevis", many states, cities and towns of the country were visited and hundreds of written, audio and audio-video interviews were held with the Alevis there.
It wasn't there yet. Of course, in some works describing the Islamic and Turkish origin population in this country, there were subheadings reserved for Alevis. There were also a certain number of diploma theses dealing with Alevis. However, these theses were essentially aimed at either presenting a general picture of the Alevis or examining a "state" of the Alevis. The work you have in hand is the first book that deals with Alevis, who have been in this country for 50 years, in every aspect and as the main theme.
Wherever they live, Alevis overcome agoraphobia (fear of going on stage), progress by developing new styles, and flourish in every aspect of life. It has become impossible to dry this thousands of years old plane tree. This work called Austrian Flames will take its place in written history as one of the rays released into that ocean of light.
