Freedom Road Book Description
"Road to Freedom" is one of Russell's most important works in the field of politics. It has an instructive content and a guiding quality with its future predictions.
The first part introduces the main libertarian-egalitarian doctrines of our age: It deals with the starting points and historical developments of socialism, anarchism and syndicalism. In this section, Russell emphasizes the libertarian nature of guild socialism and draws attention to the dangers of statist socialism.
In the second part, Russell reveals his understanding of socialism by filtering these three doctrines through concepts such as freedom, sharing, self-management and creativity.
"The road to freedom" was written in 1918, when the search for a free-egalitarian world and social movements were very vibrant. The subsequent Soviet experience, World War II. World War II and the Cold War were periods when real politics and humanity's struggle for survival came to the fore. We believe that it is important to return to the roots and bring new dynamism to libertarian thought in the 2000s.
