Selahattin Ayyubi - Politics of Religious Wars
For his supporters, Saladin can be seen as the hero of Islam, the leader who destroyed the Latin Kingdom and the person who restored the temples in Jerusalem. However, although there are such praises about him, it should be noted that such a view was not accepted by many of his Muslim contemporaries. A Frankish state that manipulated Islam in order to gain power for itself and its family, embarked on an adventure only after gaining this power, but was still ready to counter-attack at any time if Europe supported it, and carried a heavy burden, by those on its opposing side. He can be depicted as a ruler who left an impoverished Muslim empire under him.
Within the framework of all these opposing thoughts, Ayyubi's life reveals the dynamics of the Middle Eastern geography of that period, using the guidance of Arabic sources that have been ignored until now, and sheds light on an important phase of the religious war debates that continue today....
