Susanlar
Bilge Karasu has published stories, articles, book and picture criticism, and even poems in periodicals since the early 50s. Researcher Serdar Soydan compiled Susanlar from these works that remained between the pages of magazines and newspapers, through a meticulous archive search. The book was published in Seçilmiş Hikâyeler magazine in 1952-53 and included eight stories that showed the emergence and development of many themes and formal essays that he would deal with in his later works, the story of Meryem with the Cat, his poetry essays, and "Author-" in which Karasu expressed his style of looking at literature. It contains the texts of "The Reader's Notebook", interviews with him and the afterword written by Enis Batur for this book. This compilation, which we added to Bilge Karasu's oeuvre, carries many clues for today's readers in terms of entering the author's fictional world and understanding his thoughts and point of view.
