The entire work of the Polish astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus called De revolutionibus orbium caelestium (On the Rotations of the Celestial Bodies) requires extensive knowledge of mathematics and astronomy. Therefore, it requires knowledge of Latin. That's why this book, written in Latin, was not translated into many Western languages, such as Turkish. The "heliocentric" Copernicus universe, which has been witnessed third-hand through commentators so far, comes to light with the translation into Turkish of some parts of the work, the Commentariolus (Brief Commentary) and a large section from the "First Book".
When we look at the observations of Copernicus in this book, how he examined past observations, and his mathematical calculations, we see that what he revealed is not limited to established opinions.
Translated from Latin by Saffet Babür, On the Rotations of the Celestial Bodies consists of interesting and basic texts selected from the entire work, accessible to every reader and introducing Copernicus to every reader.
