"After the military coup, reactions against authority figures and institutions were suppressed, but in the longer term, different and multiple dynamics took their place. Now, whenever there is a political or social polarization, an opposing polar focus forms with surprising speed. In a way, this is an expression of intense dynamism , of course, with an accompanying question: Do these dynamics carry us forward, or do they cause us to get caught in a vicious circle? It seems like there is another country that moves itself forward, from time to time, in psychotherapy. "We will never know the answer to the question of what we would have experienced if there had been no military coup."
Engin Geçtan looks at the processes taking place in Turkey over a wide period of time from the perspective of psychiatry, which is his field of expertise, and makes evaluations and comments on the change of society and individuals.
While speaking on topics such as authority, anger, stuck resentments, persona and shadow, autonomy, identity problems, child loneliness, Geçtan also conveys observations from his clinical experiences. A look at the current situation from years of experience.
