17th Century Philosophy
Seventeenth Century Philosophy was written as a study that aims to trace the thought of this founding age, starting from Bacon and extending to Berkeley with stops by Hobbes, Descartes, Pascal, Spinoza, Leibniz and Locke. The philosophy of this age, which constitutes the most important stop of modern thought, is examined dialectically, in the sense of being considered bidirectionally or together with its opposites. The ideas of the founding fathers of modern thought are brought together with those of philosophers who began to question modernity long before Rousseau and the Romantics.
Seventeenth Century Philosophy constitutes the fourth volume of an eight-volume History of Philosophy series.
