Armenian Label Incidents of 1892-1893 Book Description: Based on Article 61 of the Berlin Treaty, Armenians took action within the Ottoman borders with the justification of demanding autonomy or reform, and they tried to announce their demands to the great powers by using these actions as propaganda material abroad and to gain their support in this regard. The 1892-1893 Merzifon, Yozgat and Kayseri Armenian events were also a terrorist act organized by the Merzifon Armenian committee for this purpose. There was no significant loss of life or property during this action, also known as the Yafta incident. However, the labels distributed during the incident contained phrases of a political nature, openly inviting the people to revolt against the Sultan and the Ottoman government and aiming to cause internal turmoil. In addition, this labeling action is an important event that Armenians use to draw the attention of the western public to their cause.
