A Brief History of Kurdish Nationalism

Today, much is written and said about the reasons for the terrorism problem that Turkey is experiencing and/or the Kurdish Issue. This issue has geopolitical, economic, ethnic and cultural foundations. The area we will work on is radio broadcasts that are based on geopolitical and economic reasons but nourish ethnic and cultural grounds.

Elites who encouraged the Islamic world's transition to modernity through national states and tried to give the society a modern identity played active roles in the 20th century. Among the Kurds, tribal leaders represented the elite. The 'Nation State' project designed by the West for the Kurds failed because the tribal leaders took sides with the Ottoman Empire. The Imperialist powers, who were experiencing the 'Elite Problem' in terms of the Kurds, were aware that it would take time to overcome this problem for them. A long preparation period was needed for this.

Global powers have not implemented policies regarding the Kurds, which have a status suitable for use in the Middle East, which are full of contradictions within themselves but which lead to results in the long term. One of the main reasons that determine these policies is the policies of America to surround the Soviet Union and the policies of the Soviet Union to break this siege and land in the warm seas.
