At the same time, it also aims to reveal in all its aspects the fact that nationalism has been the fundamental dynamic of the independence struggles of oppressed nations all over the world, from the 18th century to the present day.

The first of the most unfair accusations against this ideology is to associate it with racism and fascism, and the second is to claim that an extreme form of it will turn into chauvinism.

However, racism emerged as a class ideology of the aristocracy, which lost its power with the dissolution of feudalism, and has preserved its anti-nationalist character until today. Again, fascism, like racist ideology, is a reaction ideology against nationalism.

On the other hand, the claim that nationalism can easily turn into chauvinism does not reflect the truth. Because while nationalism exists inherently in the nature of nations, chauvinism is a phenomenon that colonialist regimes inject into their societies in order to legitimize their own policies.

Another paradox regarding nationalism is the fact that socialism, which positions itself against it, actually owes all its success in the 20th century to nationalism, contrary to its claim of universality.
