The phenomenon of translation has been the subject of thousands of books and academic studies to date, and the interest in translation in our country has increased rapidly since the 1970s.

In Turkey, the fields of culture, science and thought are intensively nourished by translation. For this reason, understanding the phenomenon of translation in depth, gaining information about the diversity and developments in the field of application, and being able to critically see the cultural aspects of translation and its role in intercultural transfer are prerequisites for understanding the structure and direction of the cultural field.

The ABCs of Translation, which also serves as an introduction to translation studies, will examine the current position of translation as an applied and professional field by examining the subject in a broad framework, and will also present a summary introduction to translation studies as an interdisciplinary branch of social sciences and human sciences.
