Is AKP's "New Turkey" just an empty propaganda term, or does it point to a fact, a reality?
In this study, Fatih Elder accepts the new Turkey as a reality and phenomenon and examines this reality and phenomenon based on the basic thesis that a new regime is being established in Turkey by the AKP.
The elder asks, "What makes the new Turkey new?" In this study, which he started with the question, on the one hand, he reveals the differences between "old" and "new" Turkey in a comparative manner, and on the other hand, he also shows how the foundations of the new Turkey were laid before the AKP government and how it took root.
In the study, the regime change in question is associated with the struggle for global sovereignty, and the AKP's rise to power is described as "Turkey's color revolution", and the "revolution" process in question is discussed on a theoretical and practical level.
Another thesis accompanying the new regime construction thesis is that a new "nation" construction is being undertaken by the AKP. Elder calls this new collective identity between the "ummah and the nation", which the AKP calls "nation", "Sunni-Nation" and reveals in detail both what the Sunni-Nation signifies and how it is constructed.
In the study, the June rebellion is also discussed and it is emphasized that the rebellion was an objection to the new Turkey by those who were excluded/not included in the Sunni Nation.
Elder also looks at the past and present of the relationship between the AKP and the Community, the two centers of power of the new Turkey, and strikingly reveals the origins, reasons and course of this fight, which he says was fought over the "ownership of the new Turkey".
