Anabasis
It is a prose work written by the Hellenic Historian Xenophon around 400 BC. The work, also known as "The Return of the Ten Thousand", tells the story of the return of around ten thousand Greek soldiers, including Xenophon, to their country. Anabasis, which means "walking, advancing, climbing" and which gives its name to the book, begins with the experiences of these ten thousand soldiers as they go to war under the leadership of Cyrus, and continues with how the networks of fate were woven for these soldiers who were left stranded after the war and were literally sent to death by the Persians. . The aim of this army, which covered all the lands from Anatolia to Mesopotamia, from there to the north to the Black Sea side, from east to west, to today's Istanbul, is to return to their homeland. His brother II. These mercenaries of Cyrus, who was planning to overthrow Artaxerkes and sit on the Persian throne, will be able to continue on their way with great difficulty after the defeat. Since they crossed difficult mountains and were always climbing, Xenophon chose the name Anabasis for his work, in a way to express the difficulty of the journey. Anabasis, one of the most important works of the Ancient Age, also provides important information about the Anatolian culture and civilization of that period. Important details about the history and geography of the regions are also presented through the routes followed by the soldiers. This study, from which inferences can be easily made on politics, war and martial arts in general, is presented in its original translation from English. Author
