Analysis of Poetry and Folk Songs in Kurdish Literature
Analysis of Poetry and Folk Songs in Kurdish Literature
This study is discussed in two parts. In the first part, poetry analyzes are included. In the second part, Kurdish folk songs are discussed and their epic aspects are tried to be shown. And in the analysis of these folk songs, the recent Kurdish history (between the two world wars) was also examined; especially in terms of folk heroism…
All five poems discussed are taken from examples of classical Kurdish literature. Here, Melayê Cizîrî (1568-1640), Feqiyê Teyran (1540-1631), Ehmedê Xanî (1651-1709), Cîgerxwîn (1903-1984) and Serda Selaheddînê Gimgimî (Selahattin Gümgüm, 1945-1967) examined through poetry.
All analyzed poems were written in aruz meter. There is a natural harmony in the pronunciation of both aruz meter and syllabic meter; Especially in aruz meter, each pattern has a different reading harmony, and if the poem is read accordingly, it caresses people's emotions much more effectively and increases the power of "making itself heard". The pattern of each poem written in Aruz is written below the poem.
