Anatolian Cities in the Period of Great Empires - From the 6th Century BC to the End of the 14th Century Book Description This book is the last book of Sevgi Aktüre's Anatolian City in History trilogy, in which she discusses the history of Anatolian cities and urbanization in a chronological order. The first two books of the trilogy were published by the History Foundation Yurt Publications series, named Bronze Age Cities in Anatolia (1994) and Iron Age Cities in Anatolia (2003). In this book, as in the other two books, the author emphasizes that the prerequisite for people living in a multicultural geography like Anatolia to comprehend the integrity of life and live together without alienating anyone is to be able to construct the time-space relationship correctly. According to Aktüre, urban histories, which are the product of an interdisciplinary and comparative field of study, are the memory of a society. City histories will be rewritten with new findings and new interpretations that emerge in each period and will contribute to updating the memory of the society.
