And Gazel Again

Being the most common form of verse in Turkish classical literature, there are many examples of ghazals in every divan. Being counted among the aesthetic resources of a civilization's accumulation is the result of that abundance. The verses of the couplets, which have been processed with the meticulousness of a moneychanger over the centuries, actually reflect the paradigm of our classical literary adventure. And the history of the Ottoman ghazal is, in part, the history of the Turks; There is often a cultural accumulation that we carry in our genes, derived from the Gokturks, Uygars and Seljuks.

In this booklet, fifteen ghazals and two poems belonging to different poets have been tried to be annotated with research on the times of those poets. We wrote what we understood and tried to remain as objective as possible. In those verses, the reader will perhaps hear what we feel and watch what we do not see. It should be like that, we say. Because poetry is actually not for gaining knowledge or understanding, but for feeling. In short, we wanted to be able to tell you about the feelings, thoughts and expressions of the ancient masters specific to their ages, and we said "and ghazal again" in the rest of this page.
