The Armenian Genocide is not just a historical issue. 1915 stands at a very important junction in terms of dialogue, reconciliation and peace between Armenians and Turks, as well as the problems of confrontation and coming to terms with the past, which have a unique importance in terms of Turkey's democratization history. Moreover, the Armenian issue has the potential to shed light on Turkey's future, with its parallels with the Kurdish issue, which is the most important agenda item in the country today. Here, Michel Marian, one of the most competent writers on the subject, ponders in his book 'Armenian Genocide' on how a solution to the Armenian issue can be achieved by "making room for justice in politics and morality in history". Focusing on how a fair and moral understanding of politics and history can be developed, Marian explains that the breaking of ties between Armenians and Turks is not fate, and that these two ancient peoples, who have lived together for hundreds of years, can build a peaceful future.
