XIX. The debate about what happened to the Armenians in the last quarter of the century and during World War I has been going on for many years. This debate has been made a political issue by some states in recent years and has been brought to parliaments and used as an effective political tool in the international arena and diplomatic relations. Through this issue, which has been used as a political material in Europe and America, attempts are made to condemn the Ottoman Empire and the Muslims living in the Ottoman country. This issue, which is on the agenda of politicians rather than historians, is inevitably wondered and discussed by all layers of society.

XV. Armenians, who were under Ottoman rule since the 19th century and called "loyal subjects" by the Ottoman Empire, were in the 19th century due to missionary activities, the influence of the nationalist movement brought by the French Revolution and the policies of the great powers. They started to rebel against the state at the end of the century. In this process, Diyarbakır was one of the places where Armenians, who aimed to leave the Ottoman Empire and establish an independent state, rebelled. As a matter of fact, on Friday, November 1, 1895, while Muslims were praying, Armenian committees attacked mosques, causing the death of many Muslims. The events caused by the Armenians occasionally turned into some conflicts between peoples. As a result, many Christians and Muslims, including Armenians, suffered material damage, were injured and lost their lives. Our aim in this study is to reveal the 1895 Armenian events that took place in Diyarbakır and its surroundings and the developments during the First World War and to shed light on the studies to be carried out on this subject.
