Stars and the sky have had an important place in various civilizations for centuries. Civilizations have used stars for many scientific purposes, including compasses and clocks. Kurds have been interested in stars from ancient times to the present day. Thanks to the stars, Kurds have organized their daily, periodic and seasonal lives. Extraordinary powers have been attributed to stars. Kurds living in ancient times named the stars in their own language. Additionally, there are many mythological stories about stars among Kurds. In addition, stars have been the main theme in many Kurdish literary works. Among Kurds, most of the information about stars has been passed down orally from generation to generation. There are very few written works on this subject in Kurdish literature. That's why we tried to bring together oral and written information in this book. In this work, we examined Astronomy among Kurds along with scientific information about stars, planets and celestial events within the scope of astronomy. We especially present the Kurdish names and stories of the stars to the readers.
