Behire'nin Talipleri

First published in 1923, Behire's Talipleri consists of stories from Suat Derviş's early period. Hailed as a promising name by Mehmet Rauf in those years, Derviş makes powerful observations about the worlds of different individuals who formed the social fabric of the period, the institution of marriage, and the limits set by economic power in social life, both in the story that gives the book its name and in the story "Why Do the Ladies of Istanbul Cause Gossip?", and presents these with a dose of humor here and there.
