Biopolitics - Volume 3 Book Description As long as politics hovers on the edge of life, it is also very close to the borders of death. It seems that we would not be wrong if we say that we live in a giant necropolis in this sense. But if we adapt the familiar formulation here, just as the moment when the darkness is most intense is the moment closest to light, perhaps "now", when we are closest to death, is also the moment when life will sprout again. When we look at it this way, even though knowing that we will wake up to a worse tomorrow than today drags us into a bottomless, endless anxiety, worry or panic, it is very possible to organize hope as long as we can imagine that we can wake up to a better tomorrow than today. In the face of the increasingly branching structure of biopolitical domination, where all roads lead to death, we are not far from the power to transform all of these roads into life energy again. The multi-dimensional discussion we are trying to conduct here can be considered as a step taken to decipher how biopower attacks different areas of our lives, often mystifying itself and sometimes openly, to neutralize this attack, and to imagine how the founding and creative potentials of life can be brought into being. Admittedly, since the functioning of biopower is so multidimensional and mysterious, it is of course not possible to reveal it in all its aspects or to keep our theoretical perspective broad enough to comprehend it in its entirety. But at least, from civil/civil death to colonialist biopolitics, from abortion practices to patriarchal biopower, from the hegemony of "medicine" that makes healthy life a refrain over social and individual health, to the spatial organization of city hospitals, from the criminal classification of the biological structure of the population to the new discipline and control methods established on employees through business management systems. Mapping an area that extends up to 1000 meters can help lay the groundwork for a discussion that can gradually become richer with different topics… (From the Promotional Bulletin)
