Book of Roses
Although the rose has had to fight against tough rivals such as tulips and carnations from time to time, it has always maintained its reign and is a flower that summarizes all flowers, even nature. In fact, every flower is a "rose", and the rose points to the secret unity that exists behind the multiplicity of images in nature. In the Book of Roses, the "flower" adventure of Turkish culture is therefore told around the "rose". Just a flower adventure? The subtle culture we have developed around flowers from our nomadic times until today, our deep sensitivity, our different perspective on nature and the changes in this perspective are among the main topics of the Book of Roses. Reading my book Roses, which was awarded in the "review" category by the Writers' Union of Turkey in 1992, means going on an enjoyable journey along the long and narrow paths of our culture with its author.
