Brezilya Oteli
Hotel Brazil is a complete noir novel, but it is also a tragicomic novel. It undoubtedly reflects the tragicomic of Brazil.
Hotel Brazil puts the reader right in the heart of Rio, which thrives on its people. The story of this humorous, sometimes headstrong crime novel takes place in a family hotel in Rio de Janeiro. Throughout the story, Frei Bhutto brings to life those who have been pushed to the margins of Brazilian society: the slum children of Rio who are abused and hunted, but also addicted to drugs and violent crimes. In the background, there are the extraordinary lives of the customers of the hostel called Hotel Brazil: Suspects and possible victims, people like the maid who dreams of becoming a TV star and a female broker who survived an incestuous rape.
Beto, who uses the classic patterns of the detective genre very well, displays the wounded and bleeding real life of Brazil through the layers of an unsolved murder investigation.
