Bridge of the Lost
While journalist Ertan Canan reads Azad's story in his first novel, The Bridge of Loss, we encounter other stories. What makes the novel more interesting are these stories that always end in death.
Forty days after burying the bloody body of his mother, who was shot in the back, Azad sets out on the road to find the body of his missing father. "Even though it smells like the blood of the dead, I still have to look for my father among those smells..." he says and looks for his father's body in garbage dumps and under bridges. He is trying to find and bring him back, even if it is a piece of bone left behind from his father, so that he can bury it next to his mother lying in her grave. But Azad has to pay a heavy price for this.
In his novel, Ertan Canan wanders through the eyes of Azad, through endless loves, memories, pains, and streets; He buries the bodies of the dead and traces their souls
