Yüzyıllık Ah! Toplumsal Hafızanın İzinde 1915 Diyarbekir

With this study, we tried to reveal the collective memory of 1915, specifically in Diyarbakır, to understand the processes of intergenerational transfer and silencing, and to focus on how 1915, which continues to be an extremely current issue, is now established, understood, explained and justified. It is not limited to the oral history interviews we held in Diyarbakır; We thought that it would be useful to write a book that makes use of both the historical information frameworks that allow us to understand the situation of the region in 1915 and the Kurdish literature that feeds on the Kurds' memory of 1915. While tracing the memory of 1915, we questioned the possibilities of the centuries-old emotion of sighing, in which the subjective narratives of individuals accumulated in a historical collective of guilt, for confronting the past, which has not been realized until now. This book is shaped around history, memory and literature; It is a nostalgic narrative that neither has a purely academic content nor gives up on critical knowledge production.
