Aziz Nesin, one of the great masters of Turkish literature, wrote hundreds of irreplaceable works in almost every genre, from stories to novels, from essays to criticism, from plays to poems, throughout his life. By giving the most striking examples of Turkish humor, he won the appreciation of a wide range of readers from all walks of life and of all ages.

Nesin lived as an enlightened, productive and original writer as well as an activist who turned his thoughts into action and did not compromise his stance no matter the cost. He founded the Nesin Foundation with the wealth he earned by working continuously throughout his life. The foundation took care of poor children and ensured that they were educated to be constructive, constructive, creative, productive, honest, self-confident and helpful individuals according to their abilities, instead of a uniform education based on rote learning. The foundation continues its existence and activities under the chairmanship of Ali Nesin.
