Stefan Zweig was one of the most famous writers in the 1920s and 1930s, especially in the USA, Europe and South America. Letter from an Unknown Woman, An Extraordinary Night, Burning Secret and Complex Feelings are among the author's most important works. When he was exiled by the Nazis in 1934, he first settled in England and in 1940 in Brazil. He committed suicide with his second wife in 1942. Chess, written by Stefan Zweig before he committed suicide, is also considered one of the author's best stories. It is possible to see here all the traces of the Nazi oppression that led to exile to Brazil and dragged people into the drama of World War II.
