XV. about time, space and people, which are the basic elements of history. The events that took place in Upper Mesopotamia in the Gregorian century were described in the 15th century by the monk Adday (d. 1502), an Assyrian clergyman from the Basibrina village of Tur Abdin. At the end of the century, two separate addendums/appendices to the Church and World Histories of the famous Syriac scholar Bar Hebraeus were written in Syriac. The Syriac originals of these texts were published several times and translated into western languages. In the first place, we found it necessary to prepare the addendum to the world history section for publication again due to its importance in terms of the history of the region. The most important factor in the creation of this new edition was the mistakes made in identifying the names of religious and ethnic groups as well as settlements in the prints.

After preparing the Syriac text for publication based on two manuscripts in the manuscript library of the Oxford Bodleian Library and the Syriac Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem St. Mark, it was translated into modern Turkish. Since it is a historical text, in addition to the footnotes that will facilitate the work of today's history readers, the names of the Tur Abdin and Mardin patriarchs who lived in the said period and the chronological list of the events described in the text have been added at the end of the translation.

This text, written by Assyrian monk Adday from Basibrina and presented on a yearly basis, includes the history of Timur, Mamluk, Karakoyunlu, Ottoman, Hasankeyf Ayyubids, Akkoyunlu and Safavid states, as well as local Kurdish principalities such as Buhtî, Behdinani, Beşnevi, Şirevi, Cişayî, Çelkî, Sindî. It contains information about ethnic groups such as Carudi, Genevi Kurdish tribes and Muhallemi.

Adday includes short biographical notes about Assyrian clergy, as well as interesting information about the history of Assyrian settlements during the dynasties that ruled in the region.
