Akaki Akakiyevich, the protagonist of Gogol's story The Overcoat, is an obscure civil servant who has no other pleasure in life than his job. Even though he is ridiculed by those around him, he lives a quiet and peaceful life. In the harsh Russian winters, he can neither protect himself from the cold with his shabby coat nor can he afford to buy a new one. When he tries his hardest and saves enough money, he is unaware of what will happen to the coat of his dreams.

In the story called Nose, it is about a man who wakes up to an ordinary day and cannot find his nose in its usual place and pursues it with great seriousness.

Gogol, who blends the corrupt order of bureaucracy with fantastic elements and includes the reader in this search, becomes the voice of the silenced mass trying to struggle with poverty, exclusion and the difficulties of social life. We present this work, written with a sharp irony and observation skill, whose importance Dostoyevsky emphasized by saying, "We all came out of Gogol's coat," with Uğur Büke's meticulous translation.
