Kuran ve Sünnet Işığında Cariyeler ve Sömürülen Cinsellikler
Islam, which approves the taking of captives from the enemy whose power has been weakened and whose strategic targets have been destroyed through the "Prisonership of War System" it has established, has also ordered the release of captives without compensation or in exchange for ransom, and has prohibited their killing and enslavement. By introducing a condition for marriage, the Quran also prohibited the taking of concubines, which are slave women, as concubines. A person can marry public concubines as well as his own concubines. Slavery, which is a deification over humans, cannot be legalized through reciprocity, and captives cannot be kept as captives for a long time. Because Islam allocated funds from zakat revenues, which is the official tax of the Islamic society, for the liberation of captives who could not pay the ransom for their freedom, ordered a freedom contract (Kitabet) to be signed with them, and determined liberating punishments and penances. Concubines are not property, but people who are obliged to serve God. They cannot be bought or sold. Only transfer transactions related to ransom can be made.
