Telling the story of the Aktaş family’s migration from the village to the city, their struggle to survive, their fears, and the increasing loneliness of the family members, Dear Shameless Death uniquely reflects the wounded consciousness of the poor, and has been included in the “magical realism” movement by critics due to its narrative woven with fairy tales, folk songs, manis, and folk tales.
Having made a great impact when it was published and leaving its mark on our literature, Dear Shameless Death has been translated into many languages and has also been adapted for the theater.
