- The Death of Old Rindin can be considered as Mehmed Uzun's most personal novel. It tells the story of Serdar, who escaped from his country, settled in Sweden and started writing, and Old Rind, whom he met in the accommodation village on the border, learned many languages, traveled to many countries, and eventually settled in a border village he had never met. Immigration, exile, identities, belonging and longing for the country are discussed between the new and old generations around the story of Elder Rind, a master piper.
