The Dersim Report, which came from the library of General İzzettin Çalışlar, one of the commanders of the War of Independence, and whose author and publication date are not known exactly, but which was secret, private and recorded in only 100 copies, provides detailed information about the Dersim policies of the Republic, one of the dark points in the history of Turkey. The book, which brings together the uprisings that took place in Dersim, which has been seen as a problematic region since the Ottoman Empire, the military operations taken against them, the measures taken by the government and almost all of the reports prepared on the subject from those days until the date the report was written, sheds light on the recent history. "Dersim" The report, which provides a detailed content of the tribes and their members living in and around the region, also reveals a mentality that extends from those days to the present under the name of fighting against bandits: From forced migration to burning villages, from bombing tribes with planes to judicial, cultural and economic measures; forgetting that they are Turks (!) A destructive, brutal, nation-state-building mentality based on reminding the people of the region of their Turkishness... This report, which also includes the military plans of the operations carried out against Dersim on various dates, is an indication of the bloodshed that has been shed in the region for decades, considering the statements of the then Chief of General Staff, Fevzi Çakmak, that Dersim cannot be won by caressing it. It is also an important resource for those who want to understand their origins. Number of Pages: 304Print Year: 2010Language: TurkishPublisher: İletişim Yayıncılık
