Dersim is a Kurdish region known for its rebellions. The tradition, which has adopted the policy of ignoring and violence, on the one hand, tries to restrain the people of Dersim with exiles and demotion operations, and on the other hand, it has tended to deprive them of their past, origins, culture, traditions and everything that they will hand over to the future. So much so that even pronouncing the word Dersim when mentioning the region was considered dangerous. Undoubtedly, what is happening in Dersim is not very different from what is happening in other Kurdish provinces, but Dersim has a very unique place in this diverse geography. In his book, Faik Bulut focuses on the past of Dersim, which has this rich heritage. The author's method is not to make comments without evidence, on the contrary, he uses a lot of evidence and little but concise comments. While discussing different periods of Dersim, he refers to Ottoman and Russian documents. In terms of recent periods, it includes the testimony of Parliament minutes, General Staff documents, and reports prepared by state officials in the region. He makes references to the works of previous researchers. In addition to these written documents, he enriches his work with the accounts of live witnesses, an essential part of investigative journalism. In this edition of the book, the first two editions of which were published in 1991, you will also find documents that have recently come to light.
