Dersim and its history, which has come to the fore recently with the events of 1938, are constantly talked about, discussed and interpreted by many groups. Unfortunately, it is a pity that almost all of the comments made are far from scientific data. However, it is not possible to understand the 1937-1938 Dersim Events without knowing the historical background of this region. The aim of this study prepared from this point; The aim is to shed light on the developments that took place from the time the region came under the rule of the Ottoman Empire until the first years of the republic, with documentary and archival sources.
