PREFACE TO THE NEW EDITION

The first edition of the book Destroying the Police Stations in Our Minds, Trial Processes and Liberation was published in Yurt Kitap-Yayın in Ankara in November 1991. This is the first edition in IBV.

The state's Kurdish policy is based on the denial, rejection, destruction and assimilation of Kurds and the Kurdish language. The assimilation of Kurds into Turkishness, the oblivion of Kurdish, all areas where Kurds live, socially, economically, culturally, etc. Making Turkish dominant in all relations has been a policy that the state has systematically and decisively implemented throughout the history of the Republic.

A very important tool of this policy, this practice, is fear. Instilling fear in the Kurds, taking all kinds of precautions to ensure that the fear instilled in the Kurds never decreases, and constantly increasing the fear, for example, is an issue that the single-party administration is very sensitive about. Instilling this fear into the minds of Kurds and ensuring that people live with this fear down to their smallest cells has been a policy and practice that the state has never abandoned throughout the Republic.

This fear is undoubtedly the fear of the state. Gendarmerie is the fear of the police. This ranged from being scolded to being killed. His house and village were burned or destroyed, he was exiled, his children were kidnapped and killed, young women were kidnapped, captured and tortured, etc. The demands of the denialist, rejectionist and exterminationist official ideology are being injected into the Kurdish people, accompanied by these fears.

During the March 12 Regime, the trials held at the Diyarbakır-Siirt Provinces Martial Law Command Military Court and the defense of the detainees against the indictments of the military prosecutors were a very important process in breaking the fear. In this process, the police stations that the state tried to establish in the minds of the Kurdish people were destroyed one by one.

In this book, the articles and books that are the subject of the trial, the indictments and defenses related to these articles and books, clearly show how the police stations established in the minds were destroyed.

In the book Demolishing the Police Stations in Our Minds, the indictments and defenses related to a letter are discussed and examined in detail.
