Created with the contributions of a wide community of writers from different countries, the Dictionary of Marxism is one of the most competent and comprehensive works in the field of Marxism. The Dictionary , consisting of 400 articles and 1086 pages, will fill an important gap in Turkey as a resource that Marxism readers have needed for a long time.

In this dictionary, the main terms and concepts used in the texts of the founders of Marxism, Marx and Engels, and their successors, as well as those that have become part of the history of the socialist movement, are examined and explained in detail by competent writers in that field.

The selected titles belong to many categories. Even though not all of them are specifically Marxist, they are all included in the semantic field of Marxism, sometimes because they illuminate the knowledge of Marxism, sometimes because they reflect its ability to produce knowledge as products of Marxism itself.

One of the distinguishing features of this dictionary is that it avoids easy, superficial or frozen definitions, reveals the historical-logical formation process of categories in the Marxist field, what meanings the concepts discussed have gained over time, and how they are related to other concepts and terms. It can be said that a kind of genealogy of concepts and terms is revealed. This extensive and detailed presentation gives the Dictionary an encyclopedic dimension.

The selected concepts were examined with their place within Marxism and their meanings within Marxist terminology rather than their general definitions. Therefore, for example, Blanquism or Hegelianism do not reveal the thought or action of Blanqui or Hegel, but only the understanding that Marxism produced for them.
