Discovery of Loneliness

We present another interesting memoir from Paul Auster, whom you know with his books published by Can Yayınları. In the section titled Portrait of an Invisible Man of this memoir called Discovery of Loneliness, the author describes his feelings and memories after his father's death. In the second part, Ani Book, the lens turns to his own fatherhood position. The flat and insipid personality of his father, who runs away from himself and reality and chooses 'non-existence', and himself, who questions the world and tries to understand it, constitute the vital core of the novel. While the author re-examines this relationship with his references to father-son legends, he also thinks about life, death, memory and language, and tries to discover the terrible loneliness inherent in storytelling and writing.
