The Persian ruler punishes two prisoners with death. One of the prisoners tells the ruler that if he spares his life, he will teach his beloved horse to fly in 1 year. The ruler, surprised by this promise, spares the prisoner's life for 1 year. The doomed prisoner desperately tells the other that horses cannot fly and that he is only delaying the inevitable. Then he gets an answer like this:
